The call for papers for the 8th European FASD Conference in Amiens (France) is open.
A variety of sessions and papers will cover a wide scope of topics: •Pathophysiology •Epidemiology •Prevention & harm reduction •Diagnoses •Brain, cognition & behaviors (neurophenotype) •Prognosis •Interventions & care •Adulthood & lifelong burden •Empowerment & advocacy
Among these, special emphasis will be placed on: • Key mechanisms of alcohol developmental toxicity and susceptibility • Cumulative vulnerabilities and comorbid risk factors • Accuracy and reliability in epidemiological estimates • Prevention and harm reduction in high risk population • Improving diagnosis of non syndromic forms of FASD: - etiological specificity and differential workup - (bio)markers beyond facial features and exposure report • Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) and FASD - brain and neurodevelopmental phenotype - meaning and coordinated use of the different types of diagnoses • Evidence-basing for unspecific and FASD-designed interventions • Anticipation and prevention of secondary disabilities and disorders • Life paths, care paths, barriers and facilitators • Expectations and challenges of new technologies
The 8th European FASD Conference is organized by the Association Vivre avec le SAF with the support of EUFASD and numerous French reference institutions and expert teams. It is sponsored by Mildeca (Interministerial Mission to Fight Drugs and Addictive Behaviors).
